Watch a video of Stolspeed VGs in action on a 601 HD(UL) wing at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CmNhvT7LyE

.Note - There's an error in the video at 1:03-1:15 where it appears that the VGs are being mounted on top of the horiz stab and spaced at 60mm.
The VGs should be placed as per the website instructions and below.

Zenith 601 HD

I owned our Zodiac 601 UL TD  three and a half years and I should have put VG's on it 4 years ago,  the plane weighs 550 lb empty but was  alway's flying nose, high not any more

I put the feathers as per instructions on the wings and also put  two on each side facing slightly down 2 inch above the wing on near the leading edge and one were the fuselage bends inward.

then I also put 14 vg.s on top of the canopy to keep the air attached to it and not become turbulent

10 MPH drop in stall speed is a lot . now every landing is tail wheel first. and the plane just fly's like on rails.

Thanks for a great product

Placing Stolspeed VGs on the 601HD(UL) wing

Place the front tips of the VGs along a line 310mm in front of the main rivet line on the top of the spar.
Spacing:  From the wingtip first 15 VGs 60mm, the rest 90mm.

Horizontal stabilizer:  On the underside 100mm in front of the gap between the stab and the elevator.
Spacing is 30mm.

........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

We have a 601 UL fitted with a Rotax 912Uls 100hp, a 3 blades Woodcomp on
ground adjustable.
We put the VGs as 310 mm from in front of the main rivets, for the wing, we have a
different spacing: starting at each tip wings:
- 10 VGs with spacing of 30 mm,
- 10 VGs with spacing of 60 mm,
- 34 VGs with spacing of 90 mm.
Problems: take some time to do the job correctly.
Improvements: What a plane now!
Stalls: They are now safer. Before, the 601 was always abruptly pulling

leftward. Now, the 601 has a normal behaviour.

Landings: 10 km/h less needed before.
Take-off: 2 POBs, now 60 km/h (35 Kts) possible.
Climb: at 100 km/h (55 Kts), 1200 ft/min in calm air.
Cruising: Now, we fly horizontally, less drag, less fuel used now.
We are very pleased to have bought these VGs. The results are that our
security is improved. Just for that, mount them!
